Great Olympics beat Kade Hotspurs 1-0

Accra, Feb 26, GNA - Accra Great Olympics played their first match under the John Teye led Interim Management Committee (IMC) and recorded a lone goal victory over division two campaigners, Kade Hotspurs at the Kaa Jaanor Training Ground at Osu on Thursday.

The match, which formed part of the "Ghanaian Blues" preparations for a challenge match against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday was full of thrills, as the Dade Boys displayed excellent tactical formations and the zeal to win and dominated play for the greater part of the match.

The barren first half result was a deceitful reflection of proceedings and a testimony of the inability of the Olympics front liners to seize their goal chances.

Michael Ocansey scored midway through the second half to infuriate the visitors who tried to fight back but were denied shooting opportunities by the Olympics defence men.

Some of the old players who featured for Olympics were John Adjetey, Nana Eshun, Roberto Carlos, Nimo Mohammed, Victor Ogoe and Kwabena Dodzi.

Others were, John Cudjoe, Roger Odamtten, Amui Quaye, Joe Tagoe, and Paa Joe Kumah.

The match was watched by thousands of the supporters of Olympics who cheered their players relentlessly.

Also in attendance were Nana Addo Dankwa III, Omanhene of Akwapim Traditional Area and the chairman of the Council of Patrons, Mr John Teye, Mr Fritz Baffour, Mr Jerry Djangman and Mr George Heward Mills all members of the IMC.
