Grant winning 2015 unrealistic - GFA

Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi says it will be unrealistic for new coach Avram Grant to win the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. Grant’s appointment was confirmed on Thursday at a press conference after an Executive Committee meeting.

The former Chelsea manager has signed a 27-month contract and will officially take charge of the team on 01 December; 47 days to the start of the Nations Cup finals in Equatorial Guinea.

Ghana have not won the Nations Cup since 1982 and it looks like the search for the seniors title will be extended.

“Grant needs time to know the players very well so we can’t ask him to win the Nations Cup. That would be unrealistic,” Nyantakyi said at a press conference on Thursday.

Media report claim Grant will receive a monthly salary of US$ 50,00 and signing on fee of US$ 200,000.
