Israeli trainer Avram Grant wants to see off his contract before leaving his post as head coach of the Black Stars.

The former Chelsea boss is facing the sack by his employers after recent poor outings with the Black Stars team.

The team has been unable to record a victory in their last five matches fueling calls for him to vacate the position as head Coach.

Grant whose contract with the Ghana Football Association expires in June next year says he wants to stay on as head Coach of the Black Stars.

“Yes I’d love to stay here, we have the African Cup of Nations, our target is very clear. I always want to finish my contract and my contract expires after the end of the African Cup that was two years and three months ago,” Grant told Metro TV.

“I want to win the African Cup. It will not be easy, there are other good teams but this is possible and I want to do it.

“In football you cannot think beyond two or three months. Let’s do what we need to do at the African Cup and then we think about what’s next.” Grant added.

The Ghana Football Association are reportedly preparing to terminate the contract of the 61-year-old after the Coach allegedly ignored the FA’s request to return to the country after Ghana’s 2-0 defeat to Egypt in the World Cup qualifier.
