Sports Minister Nii Lante Vanderpuye has told Black Stars players they will get his full support during his tenure.

Vanderpuye, an ex-footballer, welcomed the team on Monday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium where they started training for Thursday’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique.

Fourteen players were present for the first training session and the minister was delighted to meet them for the first time.

“I want to welcome you all and say a big thank for accepting me to be here. We shall all be here with until Thursday,” Vanderpuye told the Stars after their training.

“We shall be here to support you. Ghanaians will be here in their numbers to support you. Feel relaxed, be at home and understand that we are solidly behind you.”

The Black Stars will continue training in Accra today with improved player turnout.
