  • Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed tonight Michael Essien was left out of the 18-man squad for the Super Cup because of a possible loan move. But Di Matteo says Essien cannot join Arsenal.

  • Genoa have signed free agent Ahmed Barusso, but the Serie A club are set to immediately loan him out to another outfit. The Ghanaian, who spent last season at Nocerina, has been picked up on a free transfer after his contract at Roma expired. Reports today suggest that Serie B side Novara are keen on taking the player following their relegation from the top flight.
    Capital club Roma signed the 28-year-old in the summer of 2007 from Rimini, but he made just three appearances for the club before a long line of loan deals at teams such as Galatasaray, Brescia and Torino

  • Anthony Annan is on his way out of Schalke. The midfilder is rumoured to be a target of La Liga outfit Osasuna and could reportedly complete a switch to Spain this week.
    Schalke general manager Horst Heldt confirmed on the club's official Facebook page that a bid had been accepted for the Ghana international from an unnamed club, saying: "We received an official offer and we have accepted it. We are waiting for the player's decision."
    Annan, who starred for his country at the 2010 World Cup, moved to Schalke for €2.5 million from Rosenborg last January, but only made nine appearances in his first season, before spending last term on loan at Vitesse Arnhem, where he featured in 23 matches.

    • German side FC Kaiserslautern have signed youth striker Kwame Nsor from second-tier side FC Metz. The 19-year-old has signed a four year deal.

    • June 8 --Ghana Premier League side New Edubiase United have reached a deal with Sundowns over the transfer of striker Emmanuel Baffour. The 2011/2012 goal king will undergo medical next week to firm up a three-year deal. It is reported that Sundowns will pay more than US$ 800,000 for his services. Baffour came close to signing for Turkish side Antalyaspor after passing a medical but both clubs could not reach a deal.

    • Al Ahli coach Hossam Al-Badri is hopeful the club reach an agreement with FC Smouha to sign Ghana striker Samuel Afum before the club starts their pre-season campaign.

    • Jerry Akaminko has emerged as a transfer target of Turkish giants Fenerbahce. Akaminko impressed in his first season with Manisaspor who were relegated. Fenerbahce must be prepared to pay 3.5 million Euros for the services of the centre-back.

    • John Mensah who is on the verge of mutual termination of contract with the French top flight Olympique Lyon after playing only once in the season is said to be heading to Turkey. According to Turkish media Sabah, Fenerbahçe have offered one million dollars to sign the former Rennes defender. Lyon’s president confirmed last month that Mensah will leave the club at the end the season. Mensah has been battling against injuries since he arrived at Lyon 4 years. He was loaned to Sunderland in the English Premier League from 2009 to 2011. He returned to Lyon at the beginning of last season, and managed to play only one game.

    • (June 6) -- Turkish giants Galatasaray have joined the chase to sign Asamoah Gyan from Sunderland. Gyan had a successful season-long loan spell at UAE side Al Ain where his 22 goals helped the Dubai-based club to win their tenth Etisalat Pro League title.

    • (June 5) --Egypt's Ahly is close to signing striker Mahatma Otoo who currently plays for Ghana Premier League club Hearts of Oak. According to Ahram Sport, the Cairo giants will land the 20-year-old player on a permanent basis, although negotiations about contract length are still ongoing. Otoo, who previously played on loan for Tunisia's Esperance in 2010, made only one appearance for the Black Stars.

    • Ghana pair Derek Boateng and Samuel Inkoom are considering leaving Ukrainian side FC Dnipro before the start of the new season, according to reports in Ukraine.

    • Sulley Muntari's agent has said that his client is set to remain at Milan on a permanent basis. Muntari, who joined the Rossoneri on loan from rivals Inter Milan earlier this season, is soon to be out of a contract with his parent club. However, after scoring three goals in 13 appearances for Massimiliano Allegri's side, Muntari will remain in Milan for the foreseeable future.

    • Ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has agreed to extend his contract with Serbian side Vojvodina if he does not get a deal elsewhere

    • Manchester United have expressed interest in signing Kevin-Prince Boateng, according to reports in Italy.

    • May 20 -- According to reports Manchester United face competition for Udinese ace Kwadwo Asamoah. It is understood that United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is interested in the Ghana star. However, TMW claims United’s bitter rivals Liverpool are also keen along with Paris St Germain. Udinese are understood to want £12 million for the energetic midfielder.

    • Michael Essien’s Chelsea future will not be decided until the club have named a new boss, according to the player's agent. With the future uncertain on the midfielder’s career at the Blues, rumors have spread of a possible move to Italy with Serie A side Juventus.

    • Asamoah Gyan looks set to complete a £10million permanent move to UAE club Al-Ain this month. The Ghana international, who has spent the majority of the season on a £200,000-a-week tax free loan deal, is surplus to requirements under Martin O'Neill.

    • Kwadwo Asamoah could be on his way out Udinese at the end of the season as Juventus have shown an interest in luring the midfielder away from his current club in the summer transfer window, Tuttosport reports.
      The Bianconeri are looking to add some fresh blood to their squad ahead of the 2012-13 campaign, and they supposedly see the 23-year-old Asamoah as a valuable addition to their midfield. The Ghanaian has a contract with Udinese until the summer of 2015, and an offer of well over €10 million could be needed to prize him away from the Zebrette.

    • Kwadwo Asamoah’s agent has failed in his attempts to resist discussing the possibility of his client joining Napoli this summer.

    • Feb 22 -- Asamoah Gyan has been urged to quit Sunderland for good in the summer by his new club Al Ain. The UAE side have Ghana’s Gyan on loan until June, after paying £6million. Black Cats boss Martin O’Neill can get another £6m if he sanctions a permanent transfer for Gyan, who has made Al Ain into league leaders.

    • (The Sun, Feb 21) Arsene Wenger is interested in young Standard Liege defender Daniel Opare

    • 16 Feb -- Fulham manager Martin Jol is having Isaac Vorsah scouted for the remainder of the season. The 23-year-old is back with his German club TSG Hoffenheim after featuring for the Black Stars at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations where Ghana finished fourth.

    • Asante Kotoko defender Awal Mohammed has been strongly linked with a move to Polish giants Legia Warsaw.

    • Released Luton Town defender Will Antwi has joined Blue Square Bet South club Staines Town. The centre-half signed a six-month contract with the Hatters in July 2011 following his release from Dagenham & Redbridge and scored twice in 12 appearances for the Town. Capped once by Ghana, he spent the end of his spell at Kenilworth Road on loan at Grimsby, but turned down a permanent move to the Mariners

    • Dominic Adiyiah has joined Ukrainian giants Arsenal Kiev on a six-month loan deal

    • Ahmed Apimah Barusso has been signed by struggling Serie B club ASG Nocerina. The deal with Lirveno fell through

    • Sulley Muntari has joined AC Milan from rivals Inter as the January transfer window closed on Tuesday. Muntari, 27, crossed the Milan divide and has been given a deal until the end of the season. AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri was delighted to add Muntari and believes he has plenty to offer.
      "I met Muntari when I was collaborating with (Giovanni) Galeone at Udinese and I saw him at work there for three or four months. I think he is a player who hasn't lived up to his potential until now," Allegri said.
      "He's a technical player, strong and dynamic and will surely be a good signing for Milan."
      Muntari will join his new team-mates when he returns from the Africa Cup of Nations, where Ghana are on the verge of progressing to the quarter-finals.

    • Asante Kotoko striker Nathaniel Asamoah managed to impress Red Star Belgrade manager Robert Prosinecki. The 21 year old ghanaian signed a four year contract until 2016 with Serbian top club Red Star Belgrade.

    • Italian Serie B club AS Livorno have signed ghanaian midfielder Ahmed Apimah Barusso from Seria A side AS Roma for an undisclosed fee. Barusso didn't enjoy any playing time this season in the Serie A.

    • Jan 25 (By Saddick Adams) --Ex-Ghana captain Stehen Appiah is set to complete a move to Serbian Super Liga side FK Vojvodina.
      The 31 year old Ghanaian will undergo medical with the Novi Sad club on Thursday and he is expected to sign a two-year deal if he passes.
      Appiah has been clubless since leaving Italian side Cesena last season and has since been linked with several collapsed moves. The former Juventus and Fernabace midfielder has been in regular contact with former Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac and his former Juventus teammate Milos Krasic who have both had spells with the Serbian side.

    • Jan 23 -- Sulley Muntari is edging ever closer to a move away from Inter this January as reports emerge of his agent meeting with Genoa. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Ghanaian international midfielder’s representative Federico Pastorello has met with Grifone President Enrico Preziosi on Monday in Milan to finalise details of a six-month switch to Marassi this winter.

    • Dominic Adiyiah's contract with Turkish side Kar??yaka has been terminated. In the 2011 summer transfer window he signed a loan-deal with the Turkish second-tier league side.

    • Anthony Obodai has signed for Magusa Türk Gücü, a turkish club on the island of Cyprus. They play in the turkish league in the northern, turkish part of the island. The 29 year old midfielder has played for Liberty Professionals, Ajax Amsterdam, on loan for Belgian club Germinal Beerschot and Sparta Rotterdam. Obodai began his career in his homeland, starting with SC Adelaide and Liberty Professionals and youth level before moving to Holland in 2001, where he has spent most of his career. He last played for Houston Dynamo in the MLS.

    • Laryea Kingston has also been linked to the club.

    • Sulley Muntari is being lined up by Queens Park Rangers Football Club. The Ghana international has had two previous spells in the Premier League, firstly with Portsmouth and, last season, he had a loan spell at the Stadium of Light with Sunderland.
      Muntari is now back in Italy with parent club Internazionale, but he has barely featured for the Nerazzurri this season and is out of contract in six months time.
      Despite reports suggesting the 27-year-old has agreed terms with Milan, it is believed Rangers boss Mark Hughes hopes to lure the midfielder to Loftus Road on a bargain deal this month.

    • Medeama SC striker Louis Agyeman has officially sealed a move to Egyptian top guns Al Masry after he successfully passed a medical with the Port Said club.

    • AC Milan have made a shock move for Inter Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari. Off contract in the summer, Sky Italia says Milan have struck personal terms with the Ghana international about a Bosman move in June. Milan may even bring forward their plans to sign Muntari this month, depending on how Rino Gattuso's recovery goes in the coming weeks.

    • (Jan 3, BBC) -- Lee Addy joined newly-promoted Chinese side Daelin Aerbin on Wednesday. The 21-year-old signed a three-year contract from Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade after completing a medical. The defender leaves Red Star Belgrade after just 18 months at the club. Addy will join his new club after the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea which ends on 12 February.

    • (Jan 3, Ghanasoccernet) -- Quincy Owusu-Abeyie has been linked with Italian Serie A side Napoli. According to reports by the Italian media, the speedster has been identified as one of the re-enforcements during the January transfer window. The 25-year-old is owned by Qatari side Al Sadd by has been on loan at Greek side Panathinaikos.

    • Kumordzi signed a three and half years deal for French side Dijon on Friday morning (Dec 30th). He was expected to sign last summer but his Greek bosses were reluctant in releasing him.

    • (Jan 2, BBC) -- Mohammed Abu has joined German side Eintracht Frankfurt on loan until the end of the season. The 20-year-old Manchester City player has the option to extend the deal at the end of the season. Abu is part for Ghana's squad for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, will join the Bundesliga II side after the tournament in February.

    • Centre half Will Antwi has left Luton Town following the expiry of his contract. With the Hatters suffering a defensive injury crisis at the start of the season the 29-year-old was signed on a six month contract following his release from Dagenham & Redbridge.

    • Stephen Manu is on trial with USM Alger, the biggest club in Algeria at the moment. The club has recruited all the top players in the league but have yet to find a quality striker. They are hoping that Manu can be that player.
