Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Council congratulates Satellites

Gomoa Assin (C/R), Oct. 20, GNA - The Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Council has congratulated the national under-20 team, the Black satellites for winning the World Cup.

Obrifo Ahunaku Ahor Ankobea ll, the Omanhen of the area, said the victory over Brazil with 10 men for a greater part of the match was a wonderful achievement.

Speaking on behalf of the traditional Council at Gomoa Assin near Apam, he urged Ghanaians to learn from the victory what determination, dedication and exhibition of strong will- power could do in making one to achieve his or her set target.

Obrifo Ahor Ankobea attributed the victory greatly to divine intervention and appealed to Ghanaians not to forget to thank God when celebrating the achievement of the gallant players.

He congratulated the head coach, Sellas Tetteh, his technical team and officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and all those who contributed to the defeat of Brazil for a job well-done. Mr. Kofi Mintah, a leading member of the National Democratic Congress, has on behalf of the party at Winneba Junction, also congratulated the team. Mr. Mintah, the former central regional chairman of the party, expressed the hope that the unity that the achievement of the Black Satellites had brought to the country is sustained.
