Godfred Saka gets national call-up

Right to Dream (RtD) graduate Godfred Saka has been called up to the local Black Stars for a three-nation tournament in Liberia.

Saka, who twice won the overall RtD Academy player award in 2004 and 2007, will be joining the national team for the second time, having already played for the local Stars in 2009.

The Aduana Stars left full back has been one of the most consistent players in his position in the local league ever since joining the Dormaa based side from RtD in 2010.

He won the most promising player of the year award (you mean for the league? Reference that to make it clear) on his debut season with Aduana Stars as well as winning the league title in 2009.

Saka joins a long queue of former RtD players to receive national call-ups in recent times following the exploits of Abdul Majeed Waris and David Accam in the senior national team, in March.

Meanwhile the local Black Stars have commenced their preparation for the tournament in Obuasi. Ghana will be playing host nation Liberia and Guinea between 24-26 May in Monrovia.
