Glo flying Ghanaian journalists to CAF Awards today

Mobile communication giants, Globacom Ghana are flying 10 top Ghanaian journalists as well some of their dealers and customers to the 2013 Glo-CAF Awards gala which comes off this Thursday, January 9 at the Eko wards Gala will take place at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotel on Victoria Island, in Lagos, Nigeria.

The CAF Awards, which Globacom has sponsored since 2005 is Africa’s biggest football fiesta which celebrates achievement and excellence in the game of football throughout the continent and beyond and has Nigeria’s Chelsea midfielder, Jon Obi Mikel vying for the ultimate prize, Africa Footballer of the Year along with Ivorian duo, Yaya Toure and Didier Drogba.

Gunning for the younfg player of the year gong is U-20 World Cup star, Ebenezer Assifuah who now plays in Switzerland for FC Sion, the only Ghanaian competing for a prize at the awards gala which will also reward clubs, national teams and even legends of the game

As usual, the event is expected to attract and assemble top football stars, administrators, managers and government officials from across Africa and even beyond. Acknowledging their support for Glo in the bid to help develop and enrich the beautiful game in Africa, ten Ghanaian journalists are being sponsored to attend and cover the 2013 Glo-CAF Awards for the benefit of their readers, listeners, viewers and the general soccer-loving Ghanaian public.

The Ghana contingent comprising 10 Journalists and some selected Dealers and Customers of Glo Mobile Ghana are expected to gather at the Kotoka International Airport (International Departure Wing) on Thursday, Jan 9 at exactly 8:00am for the trip across the sub-region to Nigeria.

“In order to avoid any delays or possible embarrassment at Murtala International Airport, we entreat you to ensure that in addition to your valid International Passport, you also carry along your vaccination card (notably one covering yellow fever),” a Glo Mobile Ghana statement cautioned the beneficiaries.
