Accra, Jan 25, GNA - Globacom Limited has retained the services of a South African events management company, True Colour Group to stage the ceremonies of the 2006 Glo-CAF Awards coming up in Accra on March 1, this year.

The choice of True Group, according to a Globacom official was arrived at after a careful and deep search for an events management organization with a pedigree to deliver a world class and exciting awards ceremony that will meet the usual high standards associated with the Glo brand.

A team of Globacom officials spent three weeks in Johannesburg and London interviewing a number of events companies that was selected from a list that pitched for the brief.

"We gave the team a mandate to hire the best hands and True Colour Events Corporation satisfied almost all our indicators for a world class event", remarked Mohammed Jameel, the Chief Operations Officer of Globacom Limited.

The company has since visited the Accra International Conference Center, venue of the ceremony, to check out facilities and establish a ground staff for deployment of equipment.

Earlier in his reaction to their selection, Mr Bobby Scott, the Chief Executive Officer of the South African firm said he was excited at the prospect of working with a world class company like Globacom on such a big project.

"We, at the True Group are really excited because this is a life time opportunity to be part of this great event that celebrates the rising profile of African football in an electrifying atmosphere", Scott remarked. Scott commended Globacom for raising the bars of the annual awards ceremony, promising that his organization will throw in their years of experience in events management to achieve an event every African would be proud of.

"We are thrilled by the facilities in Accra and will complement it with our years of experience in the field to stage a great show that Globacom, CAF and the entire football community in Africa will remember for a long time", Scott promised after the tour of facilities in Accra.

The True Group is made up of True Colour Events, True Technical and The WOW Factor. Established over five years ago, the group has a work force of experienced events managers with individuals who have worked with world acclaimed events management companies.
