Gilbert Fiamenyo fingered for Duncan sacking by Hearts

A section of Hearts of Oak fans is blaming striker Gilbert Fiamenyo for snitching on David Duncan who was fired by Hearts of Oak on Friday.

Duncan was fired reportedly by the club’s board chairman after a brief meeting on Friday afternoon.

An official explanation is yet to come from the club’s management, but a section of the fans believe the former Heart of Lions striker had a frosty relationship with the coach and gossiped about him to the club’s board chairman.

Fiamenyo was purchased by board chairman Togbe Afede XI on his first season as the club’s board chairman, but he has failed to impress.

The fans, mostly on social media, claim Togbe asked Duncan to put the striker in shape and improve his form, but the striker has failed to deliver.

According to rumours, Duncan was called to Togbe’s office and was asked about Fiamenyo and eventually given the sack.

Duncan is credited for turning Hearts of Oak around since taking over the Phobian job last season.

Hearts are second on the Ghana Premier League table with 20 points from 10 games.
