Gideon Baah grateful to Kotoko

Kumasi, May 9, GNA - A defence player of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club, Gideon Baah has expressed gratitude to the management, supporters and players of the Club for their immense support as he recovers from injury. Baah sustained a broken shin in Kotoko's a match against arch-rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak during the second round of the Glo Premier League match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. The injury, according to medical personnel would take him about six months to recover after undergoing surgical operation at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

The stalwart defender who spoke to GNA Sports in Kumasi, indicated that the motivation and encouragement accorded him by the Kotoko faithful had given him the hope of an early recovery. "I'm praying to God to enable me to join my colleagues earlier for the next soccer season", he said. Baah, who joined Kotoko from Sporting Mirren this season, has remained a key player in Kotoko's defence, playing in almost all matches before he sustained the injury.

He urged the supporters and stakeholders of the Club to continue to pray for him so that he can join his colleagues on time for Kotoko's campaign for the Premier League title next season.
