Giants Vs Giant Killers On Sunday

Accra Hearts of Oak may not be enjoying the best of times but their status, as one of the continent's top clubs is not in doubt.

The one -time champion clubs cup and super cp winners marked their return to the competition with a 4-1 aggregate win over A.S. Dounes of Togo. Considering the crisis that the team was going through at that period, it was a welcome result.

On Sunday May 18 in Luanda, their clash with A.S. Elvicaoof Angola could prove a classic, considering the revelry between Ghanaian clubs and Angolan Clubs A.S. Elvicao will be in the match, with one thing in mind - to earn a win - which realistically isn't beyond them. The Angolans have not only improved in rating in Africa but are presently shining and sparkling in form. They are inclined to preserving their near hundred percent home record.

To this end about twenty-two players have been in camp for the past two weeks plotting and training for this encounter. They are: Lutuma Ishamba (Goalkeeper), Jacinto Perreira (captain), Sergio Antonio Matosimua, Toao Perreira, Dmomingos Celestino Sepaa, all defenders. The others are: Bedinha Augosto, Siaonio Malamba Inacio and Taty (midfielders) and Kmfuta Kituma, Lukata Shumu, Humberto Gomez, Pedro Cassumba, Arsenio Sebastiao, Do Rosario and Love, all attacakers.

Coach Antonio Carlos highly tactical game plans have drawn lots of applause. Drawing inspiration from his team's impressive play so far, the coach has declared that he is satisfied with his player's performance and form. His concentration now is on winning against Hearts on Sunday. He is therefore keeping his squad, in dominant blue shirts and shorts, with horizontal thin red in the shirt in tune.

Hearts of Oak, therefore, will dine with Devils on Sunday, especially if they allow the tall Angolans to operate from the wings. Their good height enables them to score through headers.
