BELGIUM: Jupiler League
KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen held second place K. Sint Truidense VV to a 1-1 draw at home. Quansah played 90 minutes.

CZECH

DENMARK: Superleague

FRANCE
French Cup matches were played this weekend. Bastia () and PSG (Nyarko) are already out

A tight finish is expected in the French league, where Olympique de Marseille were crowned 'champion d'automne' in December. Over the last 20 years the midwinter leaders have lasted the course ten times but already Marseille have surrendered top spot, albeit on goal difference from OGC Nice. Not that this means very much in a Ligue 1 table where there are just ten points separating the first 14 teams.

Division II
Lawrence QUAYE played his first OFFICIAL game for Saint- Etienne last week. The team "B" lost 2-1. Razak was injured and did not play last week. He will not play the next match.

GERMANY: Bundesliga
Samuel Kuffour's FC Bayern M?nchen entered the winter break as 'herbstmeister', or autumn champion. Bayern, who have no European distractions, sit six points clear of reigning champions BV Borussia Dortmund (Otto Addo) and SV Werder Bremen.

The omens are positive for Kuffour's team, whose 1. Bundesliga campaign resumes next weekend. Only once in 39 years has the 'herbstmeister' failed to finish in the top three; moreover, in 27 of those 39 seasons the leaders have gone on to win the title.

GREECE: Hellenic National League
PAOK FC 1 - 0 PUS GIANNINA PAOK recorded it's second win in a row after defeating PUS Giannina by 1-0 at the neutral ground of Kavala after serving the last of the six game ban. Kofi Amponsah played 90min

Four nice goals for IRAKLIS FC. The ?blue and white? team beat Aris 4-0 and all the players' performance was excellent. IRAKLIS won easily. The scorers were Gonias (11'), Stoltidis (32' and 72') and Mieciel (44').

IRAKLIS: Chalkias, Xenidis, Vrede, Haxhi (87' Milojevic), Katsabis, Stoltidis, Gonias, Nebegleras, Eben Hagan (60' Bachramis), Fofonka (75' Kapetanos), Mieciel.

ISRAEL
Hapoel Beer Sheva 2 - Maccabi Natanya 1
Nice home win for Beer Sheva after they were behind until the 85th minute. In the 37th minute Natanya scored for 1:0. Ori Ozan crossed into the box from the left side, Ishmael Addo was there and headed the ball back and into the net. Beer Sheva tried to level the score in the second half but nothing went well for them until the 85th minute. Then Blasin Kaku scored after his kick from 18 meters took a deflection and went in. One minute later Hapoel Beer Sheva awarded a penalty after Boaron touched the ball with his hand in the box, Rami Eliyaho took the spot kick with all the pressure on him and scored, 2:1 Beer Sheva.

ITALY: Seria A
Modena FC and Brescia Calcio's first Serie A game since 1947 also ended scoreless. Appiah played 90 minutes
