Ghanaian trio Emmanuel Ofori, Michael Helegbe and Abdul Aziz Yusif tasted defeat with AC Tripoli in their AFC Cup Group B match on Tuesday against Iraqi Premier League champions Nafit Al Wasat.

Tripoli Club of Lebanon conceded a stoppage-time goal from substitute Amjed Waleed to lose 1-0 away.

They enjoyed a strong start to the contest as striker Abdul Aziz tested goalkeeper Noor Sabri after just 10 minutes before Nafit Al Wasat’s Mustafa Kareem failed to capitalise on an error from opposite number Abdo Tafeh five minutes later.

The Lebanese champions were making their first appearance in the continental tournament since their debut at the inaugural edition in 2004, when they were known as Olympic Beirut, but their return to Asian competition was to prove an unhappy one.
