"Ghanaian" starlet clinches Swedish league with Helsingborg

Joseph Baffo and his Helsingborg side have been crowned champions of Sweden after taking an unassailable 10-point lead in the title race with just three rounds to play.

The ghanaian defender was again an inspiration as he helped Helsingborg to a 3-1 victory over GAIS on Sunday which, coupled with a defeat for Elfsborg against Mjallby on Saturday and a draw for AIK at Malmo on Sunday, has handed Joseph Baffo's side their first League title in 12 years.

Having finished runners-up to Malmo last season, Helsingborg have now gone one better for their fifth League title.

And they may yet complete the double this season by defending their Swedish Cup crown. They play Elfsborg in the quarter-finals on Thursday and victory there will set up a semi-final with Örebro.

It also means Helsingborg will play in the Uefa Champions League in the 2012/13 season.
