Ghanaian Players in Sweden Impress

Young Ghanaian striker Jones Kusi-Asare proved the star African player in the Swedish season which has just finished.
Bought as a reserve by promoted Djurgarden, he forced his way into the team and provided much of the impetus for a remarkable run after an indifferent start.

Kusi-Asare finished as top scorer with seven goals, and only costly slips in the last few games denied his side a remarkable title victory.

Djurgarden pinched the runners-up spot by beating already-relegated Trelleborg 3-0. Jones Kusi-Asare scored two goals and set up the third for Stefan Barlin. The club thus wins entry to next season's Uefa Cup. Hammarby secured their first Swedish title last weekend. AIK completed a Stockholm clean sweep of the leading places by finishing third.
