Ghana wins World Cup!

(well class 8TM, actually)

THE excitement of the football World Cup came to Gilbert Inglefield Middle School on Saturday afternoon. Some 280 boys and girls made up teams from each of their classes to represent all of the 32 countries taking part in Germany next month. The event was organised by the Inglefield School Association and with the energetic contribution of the children, and the help of many parents and teachers the day was a great success.

Families turned out in support as did classmates, and there was plenty of alternative entertainment with many side stalls and a raffle. Mr Pointing, head of PE at the school, handed out the medals, which were awarded to the winning teams in each year. Pictured above are Ghana ? the boys from class 8TM who won their competition.

There was also a prize for the best dressed team won by Sweden ? the girls from class 8PR.

At the end of the day there were no losers as the children had a great time and raised plenty of money for the school.
