Ghana victory central to Tagoe's ambitions

Prince Tagoe expects to translate his club form to the Black Stars as Ghana prepare to face Congo in the 2012 African Nations Cup qualifying.

The tight competition in Group I for places at 2012 Cup of Nations finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea has added to the build up.

Ghana leads Group I with four points from two matches- one better than Congo - and are aware that their chances would be greatly enhanced if they collect all three points in Brazzaville on Sunday.

Tagoe, has been in great form for club, Partizan Belgrade, since joining on loan from German club, Hoffenheim and has scored six goals in four games.

The in-form striker could lead the line for Ghana with Asamoah Gyan suspended for this encounter.

But for Tagoe, beating Congo overrides any personal ambition.

“We know how crucial this game is for all of us. What is important is we beat Congo to enhance our chances and it doesn't matter who scores the goals for that to happen,” said Tagoe.
