Ghana to pursue Williams

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has said it plans to pursue Athletic Bilbao's youngster Inaki Williams to play for the Black Stars.

Williams, 20, a Spanish born who has a Ghanaian father and a Liberian mother has light up the La Liga with impressive displays as a debutant.

GFA president, Kwesi Nyantekyi said in Accra on Tuesday that “Inaki Williams is a revelation. He is a new discovery and the FA has plans to pursue him.”

The player is available to play for Spain, his country of birth, Ghana and Liberia because of his parents’ heritage.

Ghana previously successfully earned the international services of Quincy Owusu-Abeyie, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Adam Kwarasey while Danny Welbeck, Jerome Boateng and Mario Balotelli opted for their country of birth.
