Ghana to end preparations today

Goran Stevanovic is confident Ghana will live up to expectations as they complete their preparations for the 2012 African Cup of Nations today when they their final practice game.

Following a 1-1 draw with the Bafana Bafana on Sunday, Stevanovic will again see his side compete in another match action when they take on PSL side, Platinum Stars at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace.

Ghana’s preparations has been boosted with the return of Asamoah Gyan from injury with the striker nearing full fitness.

However, the Al-Ain will not be rushed back as he continues to build his fitness.

Ghana have not won the title since 1982, finishing as a semi-finalist in 2008 before losing the 2010 final.

For Stevanovic the world will witness at first hand, Ghana's title ambitions after their opening group game at the tournament, against Botswana on Tuesday.

"I am sure after the first game Ghana will show the people of the world that we are really really favourites for this tournament," he said.

The Black Stars' previous Nations Cup successes came in 1963, 1965, 1978 and 1982.
