Ghana's Ex-national coach resigns

LISBON, March 19 -- Mariano Barreto, the previous coach of Ghana, has resigned as coach of Maritimo for personal reasons, the Madeira Island club said on Saturday.

Maritimo, who are eighth in the Portuguese Premier League, said his replacement would be named shortly.

Barreto was appointed at the start of the season. He is the 12th managerial casualty of the Portuguese season.

Maritimo lost 2-1 at home to Vitoria Guimaraes on Friday.
