Ghana's 2008 Nations Cup Bid Result Out In June

The host country of the 2008 African Nations Cup finals will be decided in June, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) said yesterday.

Three candidates are bidding to hold the event -- Ghana, Libya and South Africa. The last two are also in the running to host the 2010 World Cup finals.

CAF decided to disqualify late entries from the Ivory Coast and a joint bid from Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

The 2006 Nations Cup finals are to be hosted by Egypt.
