Ghana inspect 2014 World Cup base

Ghana's delegation in Brazil has been inspecting the Black Stars' proposed base and facilities ahead of next summer's World Cup.

The Black Stars are paired in Group G with Germany, Portugal and the United States with matches scheduled to be played in Natal, Fortaleza and Brasilia. Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi says the team will evaluate all the sites before deciding on the best to serve the Black Stars' needs.

“We are looking for a team base camp and that has taken us to three or four hotels,” Kwesi Nyantakyi said.

“We will do an evaluation of all the hotels we have visited and then select the most appropriate one for the team bearing in mind the criteria we have for selecting a team base camp.”

The Black Stars begin the group campaign against USA on June 16 in Natal before meeting Germany five days later in Fortaleza. Ghana will conclude the first round fixtures with a game against Portugal June 26.
