Ghana falls in FIFA Ratings

Ghana has dropped eight places from the 48th to the 56th position in the latest Coca-Cola FIFA world rankings.

The rankings released today by the world football governing body also put Ghana 10th in Africa from its previous 7th position. This position, which has been described as the country’s lowest ranking in over two years, comes after losses to Uganda and Kenya in the inaugural Castle Lager Cup Competition held in Nairobi, Kenya last month.

Nigeria jumped three spots to occupy Ghana’s previous position in Africa, the 7th position, and went up six places in the World Ranking, its highest position since 1998. South Africa retained its position as number one in Africa but dropped one place in the overall World rankings top the 23rd spot.
