Ghana coach worried about left-back role

Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic was left more worried than thrilled after he witnessed his side make heavy weather of dispatching Swaziland on Friday.

Ghana won 2-0 in Accra to command top spot in their group, but the post match press conference was a sullen affair as Plavi looked worried and pensive.

“We have problems, yes. We need to work on a few things,” he said. He went on to speak about deficiencies of the team, foicusing especially on the perennial left back problem that has dogged Ghana.

“Daniel Opare was good but he is not a left footed player. And before him Hans [Adu-Sarpei] was not left footed either.”

The coach was attended the press conference with captain of the day, John Pantsil. Stevanoic also spoke about Kevin-Prince Boateng, reiterating that there was no problem between them

“I will call him and we will talk about a few things, but there is no problem at all.”

The Serbian has lost just once since taking charge of the side in January.
