Ghana beat Senegal in women's qualifying

The Black Queens have earned an important away win over Senegal in the final round of qualifying for the 2010 CAF Women Championship.

Ghana managed a 1-0 victory over the Teranga Lionesses in Dakar on Saturday.

Diana Ankomah's first half strike could prove crucial to the Black Queens' hopes of a 7th appearance at the women's championship.

The return game will come off in Accra on June 6, 2010 with a place at the championship to be hosted by South Africa later this year still to be played for.

Fourteen sides were involved in the final round of qualifying over the weekend.

Seven teams will emerge from the qualifiers to join the hosts, South Africa in the finals.
