Ghana Premier League Week 10 preview

Accra Hearts of Oak could return to the relegation zone if they fail to win against Sekondi Hasacas.

The Phobians, who have been disappointing this season, know they are up against credible opponents who can just blight their preparations ahead of the Caf Confederation Cup match against Senegalese side Olympique de Ngor next week Sunday.

Herbert Addo’s side have one of the worst defensive records in the league after conceding 13 goals in 9 matches.

Their top striker Gilbert Fiamenyo has been in good form after netting six goals, but that has not saved them from dropping valuable points week in and week out.

After going past AS Police of Benin in the previous round of the Caf Confederation Cup, Herbert Addo believes his men are gradually bouncing back.

Hasacas are just two points ahead of the former champions, despite lying seven places above them. This is indicative of how the league log is compressed right from the third position downwards.

Elsewhere, Olympics have been paired with Inter Allies at the Accra Sports Stadium. The Wonder Boys beat Kotoko 3-0 last Friday in the Independence Day match, and should be in buoyant mood.

Heart of Lions will lock horns with WAFA at the Kpando Park. Both sides are in the top five, and with their style of play, the game should be one of the exciting meetings of the weekend.

Berekum Chelsea will play as guests to a patchy New Edubaise side. Chelsea must be wary of the twin brothers at Edubaise- Fuseini and Nuhu Alhassan, who have been putting up some good performances. But the away side equally have a good “weapon” in Stephen Baffour Asare who has scored five goals.

In other matches, Aduana Stars will take on Ashgold, while Asante Kotoko host Medeama SC.

Former Ghana midfielder Mohammed Gargo will handle his first match as coach of B.A United when take on Wa All Stars.

Liberty and Bechem United also have a date at the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman.
