German Coach still at Kotoko Camp

In spite of official denials from the Kotoko front the Soccer Express has learnt that the German coach who was earlier this week touted as preparing to take over from under-fire Abdul Razak is still hovering around the Kotoko camp.

The coach, Hans Kodric, a German with Croatian ancestry has constantly been sighted at the Ridge training grounds of Kotoko but all efforts by a large section of the media in Kumasi to gain access to him and the rationale for his presence in the Kotoko camp have hit a bad patch.

Kodric only gives his name as Hans and appears not to possess a good command of the English language.

On a few occasions that he has opened up to media, he would tersely say: "talk to the president" thus confounding the media the more.

With no title of a ‘president’ in the Asante Kotoko set up, the media is thus left to guess whether he would be referring to the Otumfuo or Mr. P. V. Obeng, the Chairman of the board.

Kodric has not interfered with the training activities of the club, leaving Abdul Razak and his assistants to do the job in preparation for the titanic clash against Hearts of Oak on Sunday but first choice players like Joseph Hendricks, Aziz Ansah and Daniel Yeboah were yet to join their colleagues for training at the time of filing this story as they are said to be nursing various degrees of injuries.

Soccer Express background check on Kodric indicates that he has never coached a Bundesliga side. In 2001 he was the assistant coach of Division Two side, SSV Ulm. He and his head coach, Martin Andermat were fired after ten matches. He has also had some coaching experience with fourth division sides VFL Rheinbach and Bonner SC. He also coached the youth team of Alemania Aaachen. There is not much to find about what he has been doing since his days with SSV Ulm in 2001.
