George Afriyie defends Grant’s decision to invite Edwin Gyimah

Ghana Football Association President George Afriyie has defender Avram Grant’s decision to invite South Africa-based defender Edwin Gyimah for the Black Stars Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique.

Grant has been criticized for his continues invitation to Gyimah who is yet o break into the first team at the Black Stars.

Gyimah for almost two years now has been a regular invitee to the team despite failing to break into the starting eleven.

Afriyie who has worked as the Chairman of the Black Stars management commitee has no problem with the regular call-ups handed to the Orlando Pirates player.

“Grant has his philosophy and we must respect that, he might have seen something we don’t see,” he told Starr FM.

“He (Grant) has already made it clear that he wants maintain his squad, so I don’t have any problem with that.”

Gyimah have already joined his colleagues as they prepare for the game against their Southern African side.
