Genoa Striker Boakye Joins Ghana U-20 Squad

Italy-based striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom has joined Ghana’s Under-20 team preparing for Sunday’s African Youth Championship qualifier but Jordan Ayew remains a doubt.

The 17-year-old Genoa forward arrived on Tuesday night and trained with the locally-based players at the Ohene Djan Stadium, venue for the match, on Wednesday. Boakye-Yiadom hogged the headlines last season when he scored on his Serie A debut.

Meanwhile France-based Jordan Ayew is yet to arrive in camp after playing in Marseille’s 2-4 defeat to TFC on Wednesday night.

James Bissue from Israel is also yet to communicate his arrival date to the Black Satellites management committee. Italy-based duo Afriyie Acquah and Daniel Kofi Agyei have been ruled out of the first leg first qualifying round tie against Namibia.
