Gateway Services Limited gives to GFA

Accra, June 9, GNA 96 Gateway Services Limited, (GSL), a destination inspection company in Ghana, has donated 200 million cedis to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to support the campaign of the Black Stars at the Germany 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Mr Conny Michalopous, Managing Director of GSL who made the donation, said the offer is aimed at helping to promote activities that are designed to enhance the image and passion of the country and its people.

"Black Stars at the World Cup competition would no doubt raise the image of Ghana on the international sporting scene=94. The Managing Director said the gesture is also aimed at fulfilling the company's social responsibility towards the socio-economic development of the country.

He said the company has watched with keen interest the exploits of the team over the past years and believes they are capable of making Ghanaians proud during the month long event.

Mr Michalopous expressed the hope that the participation of Ghana in the World Cup will commence the revival of the nation=92s glory in football.

Mr Osei Bonsu Amoah, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Sports expressed appreciation to the company for the donation. He assured them that the Stars will live up to expectation and make the nation proud.

The Stars will open the competition with a game against Italy on Monday, June 12.
