GUSA games: UCC thrash UDS

Cape Coast, Jan.26, GNA - University of Cape Coast (UCC) on Sunday whipped University for Development Studies (UDS) 5-0 in the soccer competition of the on-going GUSA games currently going on at Cape Coast. The man who was responsible for this sweet victory for the host university was inside left, Leonard Sackitey who scored a hat trick during the match.

Kicking under the instruction of class one referee, Dawson Amoah, UCC scored the opener in the 28th minute through midfielder Sebastian Amagashitsi.

University for Development Studies took over the attack in the 30th minute and made frantic efforts to get the equaliser but the able defence of UCC held them in check.

UCC once again increased the tempo of the game and following a series of raids in their opponents vital area, Sackitey sneaked through an offside trap to increase the tally to 2-0 in the 36th minute.

The hopes of University for Development Studies of getting a consolation goal were shattered when in the second half, UCC banged in three more goals through outside left Samuel Gyabaain the 48th minute and Sackitey in the 59th and 75th minutes to seal the doom of the Tamale boys.
