The reigning domestic champions paraded the trophy through vantage points for the teeming fans to get a first hand feel of the giant “Virgin” trophy.

Supporters of the Wa-based side have been yearning for a closer feel of the trophy, a plea which was sanctioned by management of the club. The program saw thousands of fans across the town struggling to get a closer view of the trophy in what is dubbed the “Supporters’ Trophy”.

Selected players from the cup holders, led by captain Hafiz Adams, represented the playing body whiles General Manager of the club, Seth Panwum, stood in for the management.

Life-long supporter of the club, Auntie Mieri, graced the occasion, as the trophy made stops at some religious and opinion leaders across the town.

Speaking to www.sportscrusader.com during the program, a section of the fans endorsed the move and urged Wa All Stars FC to defend the trophy and the image of the region at large.

“I am not looking at the trophy as won by Wa All Stars FC, but the name Wa and Upper West attached to the historic feat.

“It is a feat that made us proud as Upper Westerners and we can only pray they repeat the feat on the continent.

“It is a very laudable idea as it has acknowledged the effort of the supporters.

“The good Lord that saw Wa All Stars through the Ghana Premier league, will see them through the CAF Champions league”, Auntie Mieri commented.

The one-day programme saw Wa All Stars visiting some Islamic scholars like Dr. Sulley and the spiritual leader of the Moslem kindred in the municipality.
