GGA Seniors Golf At Sakumono

All is set for the Fourth Annual Ghana Golf Association (GGA) Seniors Open championship at the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono, near Tema this weekend.

Professor Michael Ben-George, President of the Ghana Golf Association said in Accra on Wednesday, that the two-day Scratch event open to senior members of all the golf clubs aged 55 years and above is expected to attract over 120 participants.

Ghana Oil Company Limited (Goil) is sponsoring the two-day competition, which runs from August 3 to 4.

A spokesman of the Celebrity Golf Club told the GNA that preparations to put the course in good shape before this weekend's showdown are going on and would be completed by today.

Golfers expected to be in action include Dan Dennis, the defending champion, John Sam, Air Commodore K. Punpuni and Sammy Adetola, all from Achimota.

Mary Asafu-Adjaye, who is establishing herself as the golfer of the moment, would lead the Ladies section from Achimota while Tema is likely to be represented by Johnny Cobbina, Larry Chinebuah, Florence Etwi-Barimah and Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong.
