GFA to abrogate contract with L Sport

Accra, April 1 - GNA -- The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is on the verge of abrogating its contract with L-Sporto, the official kit sponsors of all the national soccer teams in the country.

Information chanced upon by the GNA Sports revealed that that the FA had lost trust and interest in the sponsors, who are yet to deliver any kits to the association since the contract was signed last year. A highly placed source has it that the local representative of the US-based company, Mr. Kofi Poku had assured the association of the delivery of the required goods last week, only to inform the GFA last Saturday that the goods were still in Miami in the US.

The turn of event has therefore compelled members of the executive council to give a copy of the contract to their lawyers for a careful study for a possible abrogation of the sponsorship deal. The GNA has gathered that the GFA is disappointed at the inability of L Sporto to deliver while other manufactures like Adidas and Nike are seriously knocking on the door of the FA.

The FA seemed to be presently suffering in silence hoping to break the muteness after an executive council's meeting tomorrow, Tuesday.

As a results of the failure of L. Sporto, the women national team, Black Queens currently in camp preparing for their second World Cup appearance in September in the People's Republic of China are without training kits. It would be recalled that L Sporto has not delivered any kits to the FA ever since the contract was signed.
