GFA equips Central Region FA

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Tuesday presented a computer, its accessories and a fax machine, worth ?25 million, to the Central Regional Football Association at a ceremony in Cape Coast.

Making the presentation, Mr Emmanuel Gyimah, Deputy General-Secretary of the GFA, said the provision of the equipment was in line with a decision by the executive council of the GFA to equip regional football associations with requisite facilities to facilitate their work.

In this regard, he advised the staff of the secretariat to take proper care of the equipment to prolong their lifespan and urged the officials of the RFA to ensure that they store all relevant information on players and any other requisite data that will be useful for the development of football in the region.

Mr Mathew Doe, chairman of the Regional Football Association, who received the items, thanked the GFA for the equipment and expressed the hope that will help to facilitate the execution of the GFA's five-year development plan.

He said the development plan for the regional association will be launched on October 8, this year, and the RFA has already contacted the regional sports directorate of the Ghana Education Service to use its physical education organisers as district football association organising secretaries, to help in the development of the sport in the districts.
