GFA don’t ‘Understand Football’ – Rev. Osei Kofi

Former Ghana Black Stars striker, Rev, Osei Kofi has caved in heavily on the administrators of football in Ghana, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for lacking the ‘understanding’ to manage affairs.

Since the departure of Black stars head coach, Avram Grant to the United Kingdom three months ago, the association has been under immense pressure to answer questions on why the former Chelsea manager will stay away whilst he could scout for talents in the Ghana premier league that is three weeks old.

The soft-spoken Reverend believes the GFA is holding information on why the Israeli will stay away for that long and no one will demand and warn him to return immediately.

In an interview with Boss FM, the former Kumasi Asante Kotoko player said, “Coach Avram Grant was selected by a committee when many other coaches had applied for the then vacant Black Stars job and it baffles me no one can question his whereabouts. There is something happening behind the scene we are not aware of. If the GFA indeed do understand the real administration of football just as the mother-body, FIFA does then we won’t be discussing this matter as we are now”.

“Why will a coach who is paid USD 50,000 before tax stay away from his responsibilities for months and no one at the FA will question his where he is? There’s something fishy going on between the GFA and the coach.
He’s a TV pundit in the UK whilst an apartment has been rented out here for him,” he added.

Ghana has Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers on March 23, Mozambique at the Accra Sports stadium.
