GFA Calls Off Angolan Match

The Ghana Football Association has turned down a friendly match with the Angolan national team, the Palancra Nagras this Sunday. The match was to be played in Luanda but the FA will not be able to raise a team.

GFA chairman Ben Koufie says the league and other matters relating to football are engaging the Association full time and there is no chance the Black Stars can prepare for the Angolans now.

The league is in full flight and raising a team out of the local league will be extremely difficult.

Meanwhile, the Angolans under former Ghanaian coach Ishmael Kurtz has already called up a sixteen-man team for the Black Stars game on Sunday.

Angola also failed to make it to the 2004 African Cup of Nations and would have used the match to prepare for the COSAFA cup, a tournament for the Eastern and South African countries.
