GFA Aspirants Hit With Controversial Endorsements

The race for the Ghana Football Association presidency is gathering momentum with issues of multiple endorsements for candidates being speculated.

The Volta Regional FA have issued a disclaimer to a purported signature of one of its member Salim Ahmed Salim for approving Vincent Sowah Odotei while the Board of Directors of second-tier side Bofoakwa Tano also claim Takyi Arhin does not have the mandate to endorse the candidature of Neil Armstrong Mortagbe.

Ghanasoccernet.com can confirm that while the team manager of Heart of Lions, Yashin Laryea endorsed the candidature of Neil Amstrong, his Chief Executive Desmond Frimpong Manso penned his signature for incumbent Kwesi Nyantakyi.

The Ghana Football Association laws do not allow the endorsement of two or more persons from the same club for different candidates.

The election committee will on Tuesday announce candidates eligible to contest for the April 28 election.

The three men in contention will require the endorsement of at least ten clubs to qualify to stand for the position.
