GBC gets exclusive rights for live telecast of Nations Cup matches

Accra, Jan. 19, GNA - The government has given support to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), to enable the National Television Network to acquire exclusive rights for the live telecast of matches of the 25th African Cup of Nations, which opens in Cairo, Egypt on January 20.

A statement signed in Accra by Mr Frank Agyekum, Government Spokesperson on Governance on Friday said any organisation that wished to broadcast the tournament would be expected to liaise with the GBC for the rights.

The statement said GBC should ensure that it secured sponsorship towards defraying the cost involved in securing the rights to the broadcast.
