Four clubs charged for misconduct

The GFA has charged four clubs in respect of their MTN FA Cup Preliminary Round matches.

Berekum Arsenals and La Faith FC on January 31, 2015, failed to turn up to play the MTN FA Cup Preliminary Round matches against Tamale FC and Prestige FC respectively, without permission from the GFA and without proper withdrawal notification to the GFA.

Toende United FC and Tarkwa United have also been charged for the same misconduct in respect of their MTN FA Cup Preliminary Round matches against 77 Stars and Vimabe, at the Wa Stadium and Bibiani on January 28 and 29 respectively

The clubs were therefore charged separately for breach of Articles 7(d) and 11(b) of the GFA FA Cup Regulations in respect of the matches.

The Clubs are to submit their written Statements of Defence to the charge(s) on or before Friday, February 13, 2015 on or before 5pm at the GFA Secretaria,t failure of which the Disciplinary Committee shall proceed to adjudicate the case without their Statements of Defence.

In another development, The Ghana Football Association Prosecutor has also charged Accra Great Olympics, two officials and two players, following their First Capital Plus Premier League match against WAFA SC played at Red Bull Park at Sogakope on 25th January, 2015.

Head Coach of the team, Kassi M. Ocansey, and Goalkeepers Coach of Accra Great Olympics, Cudjoe A. Agyeben, face separate charges each of misconduct and violence, as they assaulted and insulted the referee leading to the intervention of security personnel detailed at the venue to keep the match officials on the field of play for ten minutes, before going to their dressing room.

Daniel Appiah and Joshua Akefie, who are both players of Great Olympics, have also been charged each separate charges of misconduct and violence as they assaulted the referee, insulted and threatened the referee after their match against WAFA.
