Former Hearts of Oak captain Ansah slams team

Team Hearts of Oak Team Hearts of Oak

Hearts of Oak former captain Joe Ansah is unhappy with the way things are going within the Accra-based outfit and has voiced his concern ahead of the new season.

The former defender believes the Phobians still have enough potential but that administrative issues coupled with lack of support from fans could affect the progress of the team in the upcoming campaign.

“The standard of Hearts of Oak has been below-par in recent times and my wish is the confidence we had from the fans in our time should be imparted to this very team because in the course of the match against them, I saw a glimpse of football brilliance in some of them.” Ansah was quoted as saying by footballmadeinghana.com.

“I know the board has also been unstable for some time now and judging from experience, Hearts of Oak perform better when there’s unity and peace at the board level.”

“And so the only advice I can give as an ex-player and fan of this great club is that, those at the helm of affairs should be unified for the club to start winning trophies again.”

Ansah further called for an end to the ongoing power struggle within the outfit.

He was a member of Hearts’ dream squad that won the CAF Champions League and Super Cup in 2000.
