Foreign-based players dominate Stars' list

...Sammy Kuffuor Dropped Again
Black Stars coach Ratomir Djukovic has invited 25 players dominated by foreign-based professionals to begin camping at the Crystal Rose Hotel in Kumasi on Tuesdday, May 24, ahead of their World Cup qualifier against neighbours Burkina Faso on Sunday, June 5.

Only seven of the players are locally based, three from Hearts of Oak, two from Kotoko and one each from Heart of Lions and Real Tamale United.

They are Dan Coleman, Sammy Adjei and Sannie Mohammed (Hearts), Yusif Chipsah and Issa Ahmed (Kotoko), Dramani Himinu (Lions) and Hamza Mohammed.

A statement issued in Accra and signed by Kofi Nsiah, General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) named the foreign-based players as:

John Painstil (Hapoel Tel Aviv), Hans Adu-Sarpei (Wolfsburg, Germany), Emmanuel Pappoe (Ashdod, Israel), John Mensah (Chievo, Italy), Yakubu Abubakari (Vittesse, Holland), Laryea Kingston (Krilla, Russia), skipper Stephen Appiah (Juventus, Italy), Mathew Amoah (Vittesse, Holland), Asamoah Gyan (Modena, Italy) and Sulley Muntari (Udinese, Italy).

The rest are, Kwadwo Poku (Midjtland, Denmark), Michael Essien (Olympic Lyon, France), Baffour Gyan (Dinamo Moscow, Russia), Daniel Edusei (Eagaleo, Greece), Kofi Amponsah (Eagaleo, Greece), Joe Tex Frimpong (Enyimba, Nigeria), Baba Adamu (F/C Moscow, Russia), Godwin Attram (Al Shabab, Saudi Arabia).
