Fordjour Slaps Referee For Red Carding His Player

Mr Kwadwo Yeboah Fordjour last Sunday gave football fans in Sunyani a demonstration of the violent nature of the NPP by physically assaulting a referee.

Fordjour, who is the former Brong Ahafo Chairman of the NPP, and the current Chairman of BA Utd exhibited this shocking behavior during a friendly match between his club and newly promoted first division side, Space FC.

The referee in charge of the match was compelled to issue a red card to a player of BA United for gross misconduct and ungentlemanly behavior. The booking which occurred barely five minutes into the match, so infuriated the supporters of BA Utd that they charged onto the field in protest.

When onlookers saw Mr Kwadwo Yeboah Fordjour followed his supporters onto the field, they thought he was doing so in an effort to calm tempers and restore normalcy. Little did they know that he had a different agenda on his mind. As soon as he came near the referee, he started verbally abusing him and swiftly followed up by administering a hefty “Kukrudu-ish” slap on the face of the mystified official.

Still unsatisfied, the NPP guru, the following day pursued the referee to his work place and continued his taunting, provocation and threats.

The poor referee, who hitherto, had restrained himself because of the powerful political connections of his assailant, at this stage felt that enough was enough. He therefore proceeded to the Police station to lodge a complaint against President Kufuor’s close associate.

The Sunyani Police in a rare display of courage followed up and picked up Mr Kwadwo Yeboah Fordjour and kept him in custody for some hours before finally releasing him.
