Footy-ghana.com can exclusively reveal that AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari has been dropped for Ghana’s crucial World Cup qualifier against Zambia next month.

According to our unimpeachable sources, Muntari, who wrote to the Ghana Football Association to apologise for his actions after being substituted in a recent World Cup qualifier in Lesotho, failed to make the cup for Ghana’s double header against Zambia and Japan.

Footy-ghana.com understands that his failure to apologise directly to Ghana head coach Kwasi Appiah cost him his place in the Black Stars squad.

It will be recalled that Muntari lashed out at Appiah in the presence of his team-mates after being substituted during Ghana's 2-0 win over Lesotho in maseru in June.

Footy-ghana.com can also confirm that Olympique Marseille striker Jordan Ayew was also not selected in the 26-man squad for the double header despite recently writing to the GFA to confirm his availability for the Black Stars.

According to footy-ghana.com sources, Jordan’s elder brother Andre has however been included in the squad, as has AC Milan midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng, after both players recently wrote to the GFA to revoke their respective retirements from international football.

Footy-ghana.com can reveal that Appiah has recalled Lee Addy into the team after more than a year’s absence as cover for John Boye, who has also been included in the squad despite recovering from a thigh strain.
