Footballer turns musician

Fredericks Nii Ansah Buxton was very creative as a footballer with Mamprobi Mighty Victory Colts team and dreamt of playing football to the highest level of a professional in Europe, but the stages of life has shifted him to another creative field and now plays with his fingers and mouth.

Buxton has turned from football to music and he can sing just like how he can play the guitar and other instruments like percussion and keyboard. His focus that shifted was not by mistake as he put it because he is making ends meet also as a young businessman trading in any legal material.

He told yours truly music is what will make him popular and he believes he can reach the top with the support and prayers of his fans.

Also called Asesegwa, his first album goes with the title, “Shidaa” meaning “Give thanks” because he is eager to achieve greatness in the world of music and wants toexpress his gratfullness to mankind that if his football carrer did not end on the bright note that he expected, music will take him higher. So he has put all his efforts in music and hoping to launch albums purposely to advise sportsmen and women as well as people who perform for the nation, or serve mother Ghana. Shidaa by Asesegwa Music was recorded at the Sammy Super Star Studio 5 and Big F all in Accra. He was lucky to attract the support of experience musicians like Issac Wallace, Samuel Abbeyquaye also known as Sammy Super Star, Adane Best, Richard Koomson, Bashiru Mohammed, Emma B, Isaac Doku and Tackie Abia to play the instruments for the album. He featured popular Adane Best in one of the songs and says it was through deep love that he got all the top stars contributing to the successful release of the nine track album. He hinted that Asesegwa Music has come to stay after his first production and most of his tunes will be based on peace, love, unity and hard work.

He urged footballers, musicians and all those in the creative industry to design perfect products that can be sold to market Ghana.

The stauch fan of Accra Hearts of Oak noted that 2013/2014 is a special season for Hearts and so all supporters must work hard to enable the team win all the matches and remain the best of the best.

He wished the management of Accra Hearts of Oak and The New Rainbow Sports well.
