Flying Eagles Beat Sattelites

Nigeria's last night put on firm track their preparation for the FIFA U-20 World Cup which holds later in the year by beating Ghana 1-0 in Cairo, Egypt.

The goal was scored in the 84th minute by Gbolahan Salami and underlined the misery bedevilling Ghana, who called off proposed tour of South Africa, Venezuela and South Korea.

Victory over the Black Satellites, the reigning African Champions will be a big boost for the Flying Eagles who reached the final of the World Youth Championship in Holland four years ago under the guidance of present coach Samson Siasia.

Nigeria, Ghana, are part of a four nations which also include Egypt and Guatemala involved in a mini tournament which the Egyptians are staging to test run their facilities for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

The Flying Eagles next match in the demanding schedule is against the host while they will round up the campaign by meeting Guatemala on Friday.
