Fifa President to Attend Africa Under 20 Championship Final

The final of the 12th Africa Under 20 football championship would be played on Sunday with the president of the world football governing body Joseph Blatter attending, sources in Addis Ababa say.

At a press conference Thursday, the president of the Ethiopia Football Federation Gizaw Tekle Mariam said third place match between Ethiopia and Egypt, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, will now take place on Sunday beginning at 13:45 local time (10:45 GMT) at the Addis Ababa stadium.

The final between defending champions Ghana and Angola will follow at 16:00 hours local time (13:00 GMT).

Blatter and other FIFA executives are due in Addis Ababa over the weekend.

They would hold discussions on issues of mutual interest with executive members of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) headed by Issa Hayatou.

CAF sounces hinted that issues to be discussed include FIFA's 15 March decision to rotate the venue of the quadrennial world cup tournament among the continental federations.

FIFA's decision, which goes into force after the 2006 world cup in Germany, also applies to all FIFA competitions such as women's world championship and in-door football.

Ghana, Angola, Egypt and Ethiopia, the semi-finalists of the present African youth championship, will represent Africa at the 13th world youth championship to be held in June in Argentina.
