Ex-Hearts striker Gilbert Fiamenyo fears failure to strengthen the squad this season could lead to tensions at the capital-based club.

Hearts have simply been slow in the transfer market, as they watch on as others invest in their squad ahead of the start of the new season.

The club is struggling to raise funds to sign high-profile players amid growing fears of a potentially trophy drought campaign this term.

There are rumblings that new coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi is growing frustrated at the relative lack of activity and former striker Gilbert Fiamenyo anticipates tougher times for the club.

“It’s a source of worry and I think all Hearts supporters should be concern about recent happenings,” he said

“They have to get few experienced players who can blend well with the young ones.

“I’m afraid but from where I am sitting, it doesn’t look pretty good. Some of us have left the club, but our hearts are still with them.”

Hearts are desperate to recapture a Ghana Premier League crown which has remained elusive since 2008.
