Feyenoord in a bright start

Accra, Dec 16, GNA- Gomoa Fetteh-based Feyenoord Academy started the on-going Mylik Classic Youth tournament on a good note when they defeated Auroras, the youth side of Accra Hearts of Oak by a lone goal when the two locked horns at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday. The goal which was scored by Yaw Frimpong from a spectacular free kick from the edge of the box on the stroke of full time gave the Feyenoord the maximum points.

Auroras had themselves to blame for showing no precision upfront as they continuously failed to utilise all the chances they created while dominating every department of the game.

The young Phobians could have easily won the game but for the lack ingenuity, led by Alex Antwi that had Azumah Nelson and Frank Ntim-Twum shooting anyhow whenever they raced into their opponents vital area. Earlier in the day, Budumburam-based Bendu Stars also defeated Tudu Mighty Jets by a lone goal with Abel Qudah scoring the match winner in the 25th minute.

Meanwhile Tudu Mighty Jets and Transworld Services Academy have replaced Ajax FC from Cape Town, South Africa and Pepsi FC of Nigeria who are yet to turn up for a weeklong tournament.
